The task of our customer service operators is to call you a doctor or to arrange an appointment with the hospital. Mutual settlements with the medical institution are carried out without your participation. Tripinsurance will provide the clinic with a guarantee of payment for your treatment.

Self-referral to the clinic

You were unable to make a call due to a sudden illness or injury, or our customer service was unable to arrange a doctor`s visit at the place of your location.
Be sure to get a detailed medical report from the hospital/doctor indicating the data of the examination, the diagnosis, the amount of treatment performed, as well as receipts for treatment. The insurance company accepts documents in different languages, if the text is duplicated in English or the diagnosis and appointments are written in Latin. In other cases, a translation may be required.

Medical expenses

You have purchased medicines, medical dressings and fixation products as were prescribed by your doctor.
When you arrive home, you can get the compensation of these expenses. The basis for payment is a prescription issued by a doctor, the original receipts of the pharmacy, which indicate the cost of each medication. In some countries, a pharmacy employee picks up a prescription written by a doctor. So, take a photo of the recipe on your phone in advance, this will make it easier to receive the compensation.

Expenses for talks with the service company

You called the support service by phone, and the medical assistance was arranged for you.
The cost of calls to the service company for an insured event is to be reimbursed when you get home. To receive this insurance benefit you should get a certified statement of your travel expenses from your mobile provider. Highlight the calls to the service company`s phones with a marker on the statement. Important: if you refused to get help from the service company (for example, you felt better) or contacted the service company for other issues, then in such cases the reimbursement is not provided.

Trip cancellation

Your trip has been cancelled due to an unforeseen reasons.
The list of reasons which are suitable for the compensation by the insurance company referring to the Trip cancellation benefit is listed in detail in clause 10.1.7 of the Insurance Terms and Conditions.
The insurance company will reimburse the non-refundable cost of the tour, and, if you are an independent traveler - the cost of air tickets and hotel reservations.
The documents required for the payment are listed in 6.6.2.12.7 of the Insurance Terms and Conditions.

Flight delay

Your scheduled flight was delayed, canceled, or not checked in due to overbooking or missed transfer.
If you are waiting more than 4 hours, and the air company has not provided alternative transportation, keep the receipts for food and hotel accommodation.
To receive the reimbursement, you must get a certificate from the representative of the air company about the flight delay/cancellation (the time of the delay and the reason for the delay or cancellation must be specified in this document) or overbooking.

Documents loss or theft

You have lost your documents or they have been stolen.
The insurance company reimburses the costs of searching for and processing the documents necessary for returning home (passport with visa, travel documents) after the fact. Keep all the documents received from the consular service and all the invoices and receipts related to the expenses on the registration.

Legal Assistance

You were sued while you were staying abroad.
If you have unintentionally broken the laws of the host country or caused damage to someone (for example, in the event of an accident) or someone`s property, you have been sued, and you have received a paid advice from a lawyer, keep the original invoice for the first lawyer`s consultation, and you will receive a reimbursement of these expenses upon arrival at home.

Luggage loss or destruction

Your luggage has been damaged, stolen, or lost in transit.
Contact the Lost&Found or Baggage Claim desk (usually located next to the baggage belts) at the airport and show your baggage tag, boarding pass, and passport. The airport representative will help you to make a property irregularity report (PIR). To receive a reimbursement you may also need receipts, invoices, labels, etc. for the lost or damaged items, or an act from the luggage workshop about the cost of the suitcase repairing (or impossibility of repair).

Personal Liability

You have caused a damage to the health or property of other people (except in cases of driving) during your trip.
The proof of the expenses is a court decision, according to which you are charged with a compensation or a reasonable claim of the victim, and with which the insurance company will agree. The insurance covers the costs of treatment, rehabilitation of the victim, payment to the heirs in the event of his death, repair costs or payment of the full cost of the damaged property.
